The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring[]
In the first part of the film adaptation of The Lord of the Rings, The Fellowship of the Ring, Haldir and his brothers encounter the Fellowship of the Ring after their escape from Moria.
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers[]
Haldir's role is greatly expanded in the films, as he is seen with a group of Elves sent by Elrond and Galadriel. However, Haldir dies in battle and is later honored for his sacrifice by the people of Rohan.
Difference from the source material[]
Haldir first appears in the novel when the Fellowship of the Ring travel in Lothlórien.He and his brothers both corner the Fellowship. Since his brothers Rúmil and Orophin could only speak Sindarin, Haldir often had to speak for them in the Common Tongue.
