Boromir is one of the main characters of The Lord of the Rings. He was the brother of Faramir and the son of Denethor.
Background[]
Early life[]
Boromir was born in Minas Tirith, Gondor. He was the eldest of the two sons of Denethor and had a younger brother Faramir. He was favored over Faramir by Denethor. However, they never let it get in the way of their relationship, as Boromir cherished his brother dearly.

He and his brother were said to strongly resemble one another.

Boromir briefly appears in a flashback with his brother, Faramir and their father Lord Denethor.
In it, it explains Boromir's relationship with his brother, showing their closeness and their father's favoritism for Boromir. . However, Boromir refuses to be there, as his place was with his people. However Denethor entrusts him to his eldest son.
Before he departs, Boromir tells Faramir to remember this day before leaving to Rivendell.

Boromir appears in a flashback Pippin has when the man came to rescue him and Merry from the Uruk-Hai.
Boromir later appears as an hullicination to his father when he yelled at Faramir and landed on the throne, where he thought he saw Boromir approaching. However, when he was brought back into reality, Denethor cast Faramir out.
